And here she is eating HASHBROWNS from McD's and she loves string chees & mac & cheese & really, anything you are eating. She is a begs from you no matter what you are eating! Too fun!

Moving Up To The Big Girl Room
On her very first day in the 6-12 month old room,
Andy went to pick her up.
He had to sign a BOO BOO REPORT.
What the heck is a BOO BOO REPORT?!
Basically she was laying down holding her own bottle eating.....
when a mean ass kid came over and wailed on her with a toy.
She has a black bruise over her left eyebrow.
Really??? Already???
I am gonna have to teach her freaking infant KUNG FU!!!

Growling... yup, she's growling now. It's the funniest noise! Her buddy EJ taught her how. Those darn Lartigues. Riley is also spending lots of time in the big girl room (6-12 month room) and watching everyone crawl & walk sure makes her tired! Not only does she nap when she gets home but she's been sleeping really good at night too. Andy has been in Colorado for the week & we have had some good mommy daughter time! I am ready for a break though! She's been really clingy, except during bath time... that is her time. Other then that, she wants you holding her or crawling to you. Something tells me she is going to be very demanding when it comes to attention.

Bath Time
Riley has had a busy week with her breathing treatments, to learning how to crawl at daycare to bath time :) 8 months & 8 days and she's now ready to get crawling.

8 Months Old
For Riley's 8 month marker, we took her to her first volleyball game at Klein Collins. Oak Ridge played Klein Oak for 1st round play offs & it was a heartbreaker! But RIley sure enjoyed it! She was smiling & happy as can be the WHOLE time! We didn't get her home until 8:15pm & she passed out by 9pm. Is she really becoming more social??
Spending Time WIth Riley
She's pulling up, talking- mostly jibberish but she loves to say DA DA DA DA and laughing! We're thinking her top teeth are trying to come in. Riley's been a bit fussy and not eating as much as usual but once you think you get the hang of it, she changes on ya!

Happy Halloween
Our First Halloween with little Booger!!! She originally was going to be a skunk but, doesn't fit into the costume anymore. So, we bought a LADY BUG costume. I will post pictures as soon as we download them this weekend. We are going to take her to her GiGi's then Grams & Pops. After that we will come home & get her to bed & hand out candy. Hope you all have a great time!

Diaper Rash
PURE HELL...poor baby. 2 days and her butt is redder then a lobster. I have tried everything now she is going to the doctor tomorrow for her flu shot but to have them check her butt out too. Sad, but true! Her little booty....this is so hard! I hate to watch her when we change her, she flinches & screams! I even let her go comando for an hour tonight. And she didn't make a mess :) Thank goodness! Anywho, hopefully... good news tomorrow!

Time is flying by!!! Friday, Riley goes to get her 1st flu shot (YUCK) and we are ALL not looking forward to that. She has been shaking her head no a lot- it's cute now, but I can see how this can get old. She also started pouching her lips out when she doesn't want a bite of her baby food. Little stinker! And boy has she been pulling herself up! The kid won't sit by you, she has to be crawling all over you! I think that is something she got from her momma... not being able to sit still.
In anticipation of her growing out of her little skunk costume, we bought a lady bug costume for her. Our plans for Halloween next week are to go to her grandparents & gigi's. Then bring her home to bathe & go to bed before trick or treaters even come around! We decorated the yard again except this year we bought some funky spider web lights- I will take a picture of it so ya'll can check it out. By far, we are the most spirited in the neighborhood!! Wait til Christmas!
This past weekend, the Pipaks came to visit as we threw T a small shower. It was so fun! We hated for them to leave! Things are neat how everything works out but it feels yesterday when we lived in kingwood. Viva la KW!!!!

So Much Has Happened...time to catch you up
Let's see... so in the last month & a half, Riley has started daycare, gotten the hang of sitting up by herself, mastered the art of spitting and even began grunting as loud as she can. Not the poop grunt, the I can't wait to be moving grunt! It's kind of like she's frustrated that she can't walk yet. She can also turn in her walker to the right, left, forward, backwards & loves to run into the dog bowl. She backs up and rams it- seriously! Also, RIley has started slapping with her hands, reaching for the spoon when you feed her & when you are in her space. No crawling yet but she can rock back & forth pretty good. All is well with her. Mommy has had a hard time with this daycare thing... but I am trying to get used to it. Oh and she loves to pull up when she's on your lap! The doctor said that her development is GREAT & that we will need to stay one step ahead of her... is that the doc way of saying she's gonna give us a run for our money? I think we kinda already have known that!!!! I will add pics soon! Love ya'll
Her First Hurricane
So we made it through her first hurricane but not without some fuss. Hurricane IKE came thru last Friday & we hunkered down for the 90 mph winds with Riley, 3 dogs (one was randomly left in our backyard) a cat & NO AIR CONDITIONING. Lets just say, it was not much fun. After 5 days no electricity, we got it back....but meanwhile, we stayed with GiGi for a couple of nights & Riley slept in her pack & play. Ever since IKE, she was off schedule & waking up screaming in the middle of the night. We haven't been able to get her back on track yet. Finally, yesterday we went to get her 6month shots & Dr. Romero discovered her 1st tooth broke the surface. Her bottom left one is out....okay, now we know what is going on with this fisty little fart! She had been grunting, crying & mouthing so much more then usual. It's teething!!! Oficially, she is a carnivore :) Our fence, computer & washing machine all took a hit during IKE so we are off to go get a computer today and I promise I will do a better job of updating the blog. Oh & ps...Dr. Romero said Riley is in 97th percentile fo babies her age in ht. meaning her 28" tall is the size of the avg. 9-10 month old......woop! And 18lbs. 9oz. GO GIRL!!!!

She Did IT!!!!
Call it accident, call it on purpose....Andy & I had her on the floor in our room & she was on her belly. One second she was on her belly, the next she pushed off of her left side & rolled on her back!! Wahoo---progress! I can't wait to try it again! I think it had something to do with Aunt Tiffany & Grandma Marin visiting this weekend! Maybe the cola flavored icee grandma gave her....

Summertime
As it comes to an end...I sit here & think, where did it go? I already feel like these past 4 months have flown by...not the NIGHTS but the overall time. She has changed our lives for the better but there are still momments that I stare & think, why can't you speak english??? The crying, it's hard to interprut- ya know?! But without Riley, Lord knows what Andy & I would be doing...we now are professional diaper changers, bottle makers, yak warriors, but mostly, we are SUPER mom & Super DAD!
